Dear Family and Friends,
As many of you may already know, over the last few weeks, our sister Theresa has been challenged with several medical issues not common for a 28 year-old. On September 11th, she experienced stroke like symptoms and was rushed to the ER. Upon further evaluation by the ER staff in Crowley, it was confirmed she did have a stroke and was AirMed to Ochsner Lafayette General Hospital to undergo a Thrombectomy procedure to remove the blood clot on the right side of her brain. Following that procedure, which went extremely well and resulted in minimal deficits, she was sent to ICU. During her ICU stay the cause of the stroke was identified, she had an infection that was set in her Aortic Valve and threw the blood clot to the brain. Following this discovery, she was then transferred to Ochsner Main Campus in New Orleans for surgery evaluation on her heart. The team of doctors decided that she would need to recover from the stroke before the Valve Replacement Surgery, to have the best recovery possible. After a few weeks in New Orleans, the team decided it was safe for her to transfer back to Lafayette to be closer to home. While recovering in Lafayette, she had another stroke this time on the left side of the brain. She was rushed for another Thrombectomy, and the procedure was a success with minimal residual deficits. She was sent back to New Orleans for open heart surgery. She is recovering well while staying at our parents’ house. Once a week, she does occupational & physical therapy. She is still unable to return to work, but as many of you can imagine the bills do not stop. Throughout all of these challenges Theresa has faced she has remained strong in her unwavering faith. We are reaching out to anyone who would be willing to help our sister financially, to overcome these challenges she is currently facing and will continue facing over the next few months. All proceeds collected will go to Theresa and will help pay her medical bills, personal bills, and physical therapy. We appreciate your support and prayers as we try to help her navigate not only the healthcare challenges she is currently facing and will continue to face during her recovery, but also the financial challenges.
Thank you all and God Bless!
